Whilst these concerns are valid to a point I still feel VM and Sky have a vested interest in objecting to Canvas. I'm happy to have a tiny amount of my TV license fee go towards creating a platform that will make it easy to access catch up TV from the vast majority of free to air providers.
Virgin don't produce any content that isn't complete crap, so in reality their inclusion/exclusion will make no difference.
The only reason sky are reeling in pain is because they don't have the network to support catchup tv and internet tv on their boxes, it would cripple their adsl broadband network. However Virgin has plenty more bandwidth to make this happen. If virgin pulled it off, they would have a significant advantage over sky.![]()
