Maybe a matt version but it's too glossy for me.
As I've said elsewhere, I prefer to take the hard drive and memory stick around to a mates than the whole console.
In the conference they mentioned silent or whisper quiet, does that include when the disc is spinning? I've taken to installing all my games just to get rid of the engine noise, would be nice if I didn't always have to.
Wi-Fi's of no use to me and prefer gaming by wire. However if it was quiet and I lived in the US then it'd make an good media centre.
Did I say less gloss?
I really really like it, so much so, I might depending on price have to look into getting one. Especially if the claims as to silent operation actually end up being true!
Play have it on pre-order

Just watched the video. The hard drive's removable but it's in a small enclosure, looks like there's still a lock down on using your own drive.
Yeah thats not bad is it, I remember seeing the old 250gb around 249 a couple of months ago (but with the new Forza game bundled) and the wifi module was another 47-49 ish on top. Probably fallen in price a bit since then. Be nice if they sold these new ones with 2 colour matched controllers as standard too!
I'm going to get one of these but will probably wait for a version with the Kinect bundled.
All the pics/vids have the new controller in it. Black, chrome xbox logo & a few little cosmetic changes, looks very like the old elite one.
The black finish looks quite nice :)
Can't say I like the looks of it at all, would definitely prefer a matte black finish, the gloss looks like it might scratch easily.
I wonder if the internals have changed much. I would be interested if the cooling has been improved and made quieter.
Have a listen at the end of this video

AHHH!!! My eyes!!!
Edit: looking at the video above, the hard drive is a normal 2.5" sata one so does that mean it can be replaced with any 2.5" sata drive?
I actually like the look of this, its very slick, but that shiney surface will be a fingerprint magnet just like the older ps3 model
Nope I don't think so, looks like the old way just in a fancier package, standard drives but in an MS housing so you can't use your own.
They will have made a ton of cash from the old ones but now they're giving 250GB with the xbox as standard is there much incentive for them to restrict drives in this way still? I assume a 500GB is on the way so I kinda answered my own question there...
