Nah, this is the chip that's lumbered with a duff intel GPU by default remember. On the i3/5 this seems to impact the performance negatively. I want the non-mass market version which doesn't use 1155

Yep. Sure, there is probably quite a good reason for the socket change (to prevent misunderstanding as the motherboard chipset will have to be different), but AMD really have listened to people like us who want an nicer upgrade path. Bring on AM3r2

For the variant of Sandy Bridge this article is talking about: dual channel and all have built in GPU.

Really? I'm not saying you are wrong, but can you link to any benchmarks? I hadn't heard this before.

I'm struggling to find it. From what I remember it was a comparison to the i5 750 in single threaded apps and the performance was worse than expected, they concluded it was either the decreased L3 cache or increased latency caused by the GPU. Both of which are likely to be the case for 1155 Sandy Bridge as well compared to the enthusiast part.
