    I read somewhere that the power required to do a single search is equivalent to boiling two kettles. Then again, Google do have a 6 Megawatt solar energy farm (it's either 6 MW or 0.6 MW). I have a feeling that this will easily multiply the power requirements...

    Not just quickly debunked. It quickly showed the times to employ less than thorough journalists and that you can make up anything stupid with nothing at all to back it up and it will be repeated if it's connected to a sizable organisazion.
