Re: News - Commodore USA to launch Atom-powered PC64

I really miss Amiga, was the most user friendly AND configurable OS I have used in 20+ years of computing. Only jumped to PC about 13 years ago, every now and then I have a look online at what the scene is doing.
Most people blame piracy as the reason the amiga died out but commodore were as much to blame as they didn't update the hardware fast enough to keep pace with PC and Mac. Such a shame as some of those coders got amazing results out of the hardware. the cpu was 14mhz yet could still run a doom clone (breathless) that looked better than doom running on a 486DX 100.
And the scene demos pushed the hardware even more.

Of course, back to the story. This will have to be cheap to be succesful, around £150, as surely it's a fun purchase, something 30+ year old geeks might buy ona whim, not a serious purchase.

You and me both. The Death Bed Vigil video was rather sad and pointed to what could have been. If only the rights were available for an AMIGA version of this. Shoving a mini-itx (or the smaller one) board between two bits of plastic and callinng it the Mini-mig does cut it for me... Now a CD32 with the gubbins of one of these.... yes plzzz!
