On a side note, I've never understood why companies insist on promoting the parent brand like that. Same with the food adverts that have "an S C Johnstone company" or whatever at the end.

I can only assume it's meant to instill some kind of confidence in me, because I recognise and trust the "Dr Oetker" brand behind it.

I don't get it though, because 99% of the time the product brand is stronger... Radox, or Sara Lee; Lynx, or Unilever.

Re: News - AMD finally ditches ATI brand

When I was at college they used to sell boxes of matches from The Dorset Match Company (Devon) and then in small writing on the back: Made in France.

Those bloody awful puppet Dolmio adverts (I think) which were always stressing the Italian nature of the product used to carry 'Made in Holland' on it in small print on screen (now cunningly relabelled to Made in E.U., I believe.) It's like all the razor commercials, everyone on there has had a professional barber wet shave before shooting. When Roger Federer and his chums pull that blade down their face it's blunt and is merely lifting the shaving foam away from their pre-prepared skin.

Also, shouldn't they know by now whether it is or isn't Maybelline? I find this vacillation about the product's efficacy, disturbing.. obviously whenever I buy foundation or mascara then it's Helena Rubenstein all the way.. at least they know where they're at...

    I've said too much....

I'm happy with Boots No.7, does this mean I have low standards... it's only for the weekend!

Wait... then what will the drivers say on them from now on? What about the CCC icon? No word on that?
