Hurd in the driving seat at Oracle? lmfao - good riddance to bad rubbish. Only downside was the mega-payoff he got from his old employers.Mark Hurd has joined the database giant as president, effectively replacing the departing Charles Phillips.
Yeah right, like that's ever going to happen with Oracle's attitude to customers and developers alike. Personally I don't think having Hurd in charge @ Oracle is going to do much damage to IBM's, (or even HP's), sales. Heck, they might even see an upswing in sales as totally disgruntled Sun customers migrate away from Oracle's slow-train-wreck."I believe Oracle's strategy of combining software with hardware will enable Oracle to beat IBM in both enterprise servers and storage," said Hurd.
If I worked for Oracle (and I'm thanking the maker of all things that I don't) then I'd be getting my c.v. in order just about now. Don't forget that Hurd's 'Business 101' is "fire many, fire often".
