If they're using 3G, how reliable is the connection as you travel across the country?

I quite often trave on the Oxford Tube coach service between Oxford and London, all of their coaches have free WiFi and ive found it invaluable (apart from the embarrassing time while watching the Valencia GP live on iplayer (with headphones on) when Mark Webber crashed, I may have said a naughty word quite loudly causing everyone to look!)

Well if it's good enough to watch iPlayer on, I'd say the network is pretty damn solid . Quite shocked by that actually, I was expecting Google to take a second or two to load and stuff.
