Jumped straight in, installed, not bad so far, faster than IE8 no formatting issues seen either yet.
i agree, looks nice
being able to drag a tab off the browser to open as a new windows rather nice.

its about damn time you can drag out the tab, every other browser has been doing it for ages.

Just installed it tonight, first impressions are very good. I don't think i've scratched the service of any new features, but I like the new look.

Mhmhmhm, it looks and runs nicely. I still think they should redo the internet options menu in order to make it usable to the 'average' user.

I thought they were releasing the public beta this week. I guess I won't be sleeping under this rock anymore.
I hope that with these performance improvements they have fixed the extremely long time needed to launch a new blank tab.
Well I have tried this on a 32bit vista ultimate machine, a 32 bit and 64 bit windows 7 enterprise and all suffer the same issue. Add google as a search provider to your "one bar" and then go to search anything. Takes you to google search results. However, when you click on any of the results on the page IE9 refuses to leave the google search page. Once this bug kicks in (quite a few on a few irc channels all having the same issue) you can then not navigate to any page unless you close down IE9 and then restart it.
Happens every time without fail, makes the browser pretty useless, looks great and loads faster than IE8 but unless that bug is fixed, Chrome will still be the browser of choice atm. If I can get a screen cast of it I will post it up on here so you can see the issue. Annoying to say the least.

I can only notice a beta IE9 on Microsoft's page. What's this article about? I was reading this late last night on my phone and I got the impression that IE9 has gone RTM and released.
The delay thing with tabs... the delay varies from time to time and sometimes can be pretty long and other times very quick. When you press ctrl+t you always get a new tab while your current tab is still focused and after a slight delay your newly opened tab gets the focus. The only thing you can do with a new blank tab is either go to a webpage or do a search (ctrl+e) and sometimes in IE8 if I do ctrl+t and ctrl+e in quick succession, the search box in the current tab will get the focus, then the new tab will get focus and would have to do ctrl+e again. This never happens in firefox and opera
