I think Hexus should realise that Eurocom just sell rebranded Clevo chassis which other companies do the world over. its not Eurocom coming up with this stuff, its Clevo. There's UK companies and European ones (eurocom are canadian) already shipping the same laptop who have a much better reputation.
Have a look on notebookreview.com and you'll see what sort of tricks they pull.'fair and legal business practices' is an interesting If not fairly shocking read.Half the options that Eurocom claim to offer aren't even available..I.e screen is not 120hz and doesn't support 3d, raid 10 isn't supported and did I mention they are massively overpriced? Hexus should do more homework before regurgitating press releases into worthy news articles...its border line negligence especially if people are looking to buy from an overseas company.
I got caught out buying from Eurocom before and had to get a UK clevo reseller to help me out. I'm now sticking with them.
Why is it every time I see Eurocom 'laptops' I'm suddenly reminded of a glowing hot concrete building block?
Clevo chassis have always been a bit of a cost compromise.
They pack in some top notch stuff, and going back 8 years they offered better spec machines than alienware laptops for less dosh. I bought one as a uni laptop, not for taking to everyday lectures, but for labs and the like where I always had power.
It was a desktop in sheeps' clothing. Pure and simple.
It did of course break after 2 years, needing minor repair, and AJP the clevo brander went bust. But for the dosh saving, it was very good, £500 cheaper than a mates alienware, faster and the same chassis with newer revision motherboard and GPU.
So its cheap tat.
Eurocom/Clevo aside, why don't more laptops have HDMI-in? Could've used that a few times.
I can't think of a single time that I would have benefited from a HDMI-in, while on the other hand HDMI-out is a basic necessity for a laptop for me.Quote:

Quite a few times I've been testing machines, and reconfiguring my monitors would've been a right pain in the neck, as compared to grabbing a laptop and using HDMI input to utilise the screen, I know which I'd pick.
It's a bit annoying that whilst all laptops have screens on them, you can't actually use it for anything other than the laptop display.
Theirs still a lot of issues with the HDMI in on these laptops, one being the fact it can't do 1080p just 720p or 1080i, its also a optional extra from the clevo factory so pushes up the price of the laptop.Quote:
