Everyone suddenly realizes that its not that easy to beat the cr** out of the iPads?
Android not being designed for Tablets in the first place would probably have something to do with it.
It's funny that you have "Gingerbread house" as a sub heading, but don't mention the rumored Gingerbread release of Android.
Android not designed for tablets?
Tablets like the iPad are just big phones making use of larger screen estate.
I don't see why Android tablets can't be the same (apart from Google currently witholding Android Marketplace from non-phones)
Gingerbread isn't going to be Android 3.0. Gingerbread will be a minor iteration (2.3, or maybe 2.5). Android 3.0 will be codenamed Honeycomb.
Well, I'm not sure it's either yet, since (correct me if I'm wrong) I don't think Google has officially said definitively either way.
Having said, I'm almost certain that the consensus is that Android 3 will be Gingerbread, whereas Honeycomb - a name Google hasn't actually used yet, only a Samsung (I think) exec - will be 3.x.
A quick google search found this from the Inquirer posted under an hour ago specifically naming the two versions:
