hooray we now have this buggy bloated and slow crap on android. there must be more reliable alternative to voip than skype in this day and age
Hmm, didn't work very well on my T-mobile Pulse but I thought it might be pushing it a bit!
It took them a bit of time to release it?

If you'd got your X10 from Three then you would have had a Skype client - since they've been shipping them with their phones.
According to the front-end screen the client is version 0.10.0.14 (screenshot available - just couldn't figure out if/how to attach it).
That said, I discovered that the Ubuntu One client is 2.x only - so can't install that on my X10.
Why doesn't Google make their Google Voice as a true alternative to Skype??? We need some competition to Skype!
FINALLY! I was using my iPhone a lot for this sole app, to finally get it is long overdue - I can imagine my Hero losing battery fairly quickly though but it doesn't matter too much as I won't be using it over 3g but at home. And at least my Hero runs faster than ever now it's on 2.2 (but that's a different story).
Can't you guys root and upgrade the Xperia manually?
Great idea, unfortunately Sony - for some reason* - decided to use an encrypted bootloader, and it'd proving difficult to break.
(* okay, they claim that this is because of requirements of licensing and the teleco's, but that sounds like a flimsy excuse to me).
So instead we've got to wait until the end of September, sorry, end of October, actually maybe the end of November, .... and get the SE provided 2.1 update.
Assumed so, the Motorola Droid phones are similar (at least the Droid 2 I think?) and I have no idea why they would do such a thing?!?! I mean from at least a customer satisfaction standpoint. A massive element that attracted me to my current phone was the fact I can fiddle and improve it when I wish... and for all those who don't know anything about flashing, they don't have to and can go down the standard manufacturers upgrade path.
I mean I'd rather have the option to than rather not at all, I'm sure people would agree. Nuts.
