The debut of the dual-core N550 in this model might make netbooks more useable.

I'm sure they'll make you happy until someone marks the nice white exterior.

I quite like the look of them though; when they drop to the current low price of netbooks I might be tempted if the dual looks good. Actually I'll also wait to see what AMD releases this round......

I'll be happier when they get ARM based netbooks out of the door, then we'll get truely good battery life!

Android + Linux dual boot + ARM chip would be much better imo

didn't acer actually try that? Some horrible thing running linux, massive flop, battery life didn't cut even above what a extended battery manages on some netbooks, with all the limiting factors (see how many netbooks are still selling with linux)

They did, as did Asus, trouble was they used a horrible cropped down Linux version. If they'd of used something like Ubuntu NBR or the like it might of been better.

These machines are just too low spec imo for Windows 7 to be anywhre near them.

Till I broke the screen on my Aspire One, Ubuntu NBR 10.04 was runnning lovely on it

Re: News - Acer trots out Aspire One Happy netbook

meh used a friends one running 7 basic, worked fine, web surfing in chrome was as fast as I needed.

Flash was a bit crap, but that goes without saying. The main complaint is the effect playing video has on battery life.
