Will be interesting to see what they have planned for 10.7, not been any major changes really sicne 10.5 (10.6 being more of a fine-tune of 10.5 really).
My guess is they might have a workable API for using a graphics card?
I'm amazingly shocked that Safari had hardware acceleration first on windows, rather than OSX, how can the average joe developer do it, when Apple with access to all the undocumented APIs (which are all too often required) can't do it.

So, let me get this right, they are releasing what is essentially a service pack and it requires some sort of media hype?
So Microsoft get massive slagging off because they sell windows at an expensive price when all future updates are free... an OS at ~£100 vs paying X amount every so often.
Wow thats pretty one sided. Typical apple though, shame not many actually adopt their systems still.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
Yes three years gap.
Not to mention the overhalled kernel, memory management of superfetch, UAC, the complete re-jig on key parts of DWM the new stuff in WIC, Libraries.
Oh yes, and the fact it LOOKS different.
That is a very important thing as its hard enough for most keyboarded retards out there to know that they are using Windows, let alone the main version or god forbid the service pack. If they had made that change as a service pack hell would have broken loose.
But there were some changes which should have been part of a vista service pack, such as TRIM support.
Windows XP SP2 was a major issue, it was not normal, and in many ways goes to some of the respect I have for MS, they actually realised they'd been going completely off piste ignoring security for internet connected machines (only about 5 years after everyone else had realised this mind!).
But they do issue service packs a lot longer than mac, this is hardly a reason why the corps don't use them thou, the cost and lack of server software does that.

Here comes the first major update for my Macbook Pro then, are they "fun" to install and get going or just as easy as a Windows Update?
