    Full 64bit browser/plugins was the norm for Gentoo users until Adobe jammed a stick in the spokes when they broke the 64bit plugin with 10.1. It doesn't particularly make a massive difference, but it sure is nice to not have to needlessly load the full array of 32bit libs just for a browser (or worse, youtube and ads if you're using nspluginwrapper).

    What has really helped Opera in this regard is that more sites are having do design and code to handle a multitude of browsers, not just IE, so layout and scripting is now far less likely to break in Opera than it used to.
