Sounds like a Vapor-X solution to me. Will really need to dump the heat outside the case, unlike the Sapphire version though.
It says 'fastest GPU on planet' (1:04).
Was waiting for a pair of knickers to be be thrown at the presenter. I presume this is going to be the 580 or 460X2?
Sounded like a single GPu, so a 580 I think.
Well it would be the fastest GPU, but not the fastest card.
If saphire own patents on there vapour-x setup they should be checking into them soon.
If the claims of speed without the sound or heat are true then this will be what fermi should have been in the first place. Serious piece of silicon.

its definately patented - nv could argue their system works differently , buts its far too similar to ignore.
edit
reading more - the `wick` system sapphire use is patented by them - but the heatpipe part isnt.
Looking at the dotted lines labelled liquid return, the designs look identical. Quick who's got Sapphire's phone number ? There's a licensing deal to be made here.
vapour chamber cooling's been around for a while, and I believe that the 5870 / 5850 use it in the reference designs, don't they?
Of course, it's not impossible that Sapphire licensed bits of their tech to nv... that'd be a turn up ;)
At least they seem to be thinking about cooling seriously now.Quote:

I wish they'd think about slowing the GPU down when high performance is not needed for general use. Would save on power drawer in idle and lower the fan speed
"It will be completely, nearly silent" What an idiot.
Looks nice and organised, people tripping over each other, loads of people shouting aimlessly, the computer facing away from the camera.. Good going NVIDIA.
And just cos they're American.. "For those of you who have been keeping track, how many different displacement maps is that now?" "3!"!!!
