It's an interesting set of results.

Personally i'd probably have bought a Samsung Tab already if it wasn't for the price..and price is one of the biggest reasons that I don't own an iPad yet.

If either was £200 cheaper then i'd have one, but at that price..the iPad doesn't do enough for me, and the Tab does even less and has a smaller screen..]

This may all change next year when the new iPad is released (pending on its features), and if/when Samsung release an updated tab with hopefully a proper 9" screen and droid 3.0..and maybe even at a sensible price.

Well, we can dream can't we? Sadly I don't think Samsung will tempt me away from an iPad 2 unless their price is at least £100 lower.

    agreed.

frankly, any tablet that costs more than a tier1 11.6" Zacate Fusion netbook is going to struggle to be taken seriously by me.

and seeing as I anticipate these devices turning up early next year with a price of £450 that pretty much means that i expect a quality 3G tablet to cost £400 or less.

The price point should have been sub-500 in the first place and $100 for a 3G chip set is just having a laugh.

I have been assuming that the lack of credible competition and "must have it first" fanboys were keeping the price at stoopid levels but unless someone comes out with a proper "iPad killer" - my God I hate that expression - or more people wait to buy one we may be having to wait a little longer.

I'll buy one when the price is right and not before.

How about the new dell inspiron duo? It's certainly piqued my interest!

It's interesting but it's not a competitor to the iPad et al yet, different markets and purposes.

Thats basically a netbook tablet, and because its running Windows 7 its got completely different uses and sadly suffers from a lacklustre touch interface. Certainly more powerful and technically better than an ipad/samsung tab, but as I said, different purposes.

I have a tablet PC, and I love it, but what i'm missing on it is something like iOS with its app store, or android 3.0 with its equivalent. It's the apps that make the iPad and Tab desirable, and we're not quite there with Windows 7 yet..or i'd not even consider an ipad etc as i'd have no need

I'd consider swapping my TX-2 for one of those dell mini tablets though, funky design even if I can see that hinge snapping in a few months of use!
