Would love for this to happen.
Seems there is a lot more support for the older handsets now on Android.
Re: News - Rumours HTC Desire owners could get Sense.com support
YES PLEASE! "older"?! It isn't that old, barely a year yet!
Re: News - Rumours HTC Desire owners could get Sense.com support
If Desire users can get it - so should we Legend users! - to arms guys!
Re: News - Rumours HTC Desire owners could get Sense.com support
HTC showing quite clearly other manufactures how product support is meant to work.
Not an owner of a Desire 'Got Desire HD' but is good to know that HTC continue to support older models of their products , unlike other people... 'Cough Samsung'..... 'Cough Sony'.....

Oh how I'd love to believe this. I'm sure they're better than other brands, I'm very pleased with my Wildfire.
But why is Froyo / Android 2.2 STILL not available for the Wildfire? It is in some very selected areas, but for sim-free users in the UK, still nothing.
So if Desire owners "could" get Sense, it'll probably take HTC a year or more to bring it over!
Re: News - Rumours HTC Desire owners could get Sense.com support
Well, it would be nice if they rolled it out to all their devices, since they are making a shed load of profit as of late! But you know, no ones ever THAT nice.

You should get it by the end of the year. Don't forget that the wildfire is alot less powerful than the Desire, Desire Z or Desire HD. You can't keep expecting the latest software to be released for a phone that was not that powerful when released in the first place.

Sadly not all of us are prepared to spend £400+ (!!) on a phone.. but seeing as Froyo is supposed to bring speed-ups, and is only a .1 upgrade, it should be a feasible upgrade. No, I don't expect Android 3.

It might only be a .1 upgrade, but 2.2 does some things very differently to 2.1, that is why there has been issues upgrading to that on some handsets. If handsets get 2.2, they will be compatible with 3.0 as that is built on he same foundations as 2.2.
Re: News - Rumours HTC Desire owners could get Sense.com support
This will certainly come in handy for the misses, as she is always losing her phone.
It's an excellent feature :woowoo:
Re: News - Rumours HTC Desire owners could get Sense.com support
HTC clearly see sence.com as a way to generate revenue in the long term, if it was simply a value add, it would be for new handsets only. If adding sense requires 2.2 then that is great news for everyone.

Would rooted phones work is the question as I assume it be implpemented in an update.
