Also, these rape allegations seem suspiciously timed. Something very fishy about all this.
I don't see what the big deal is with the wikileaks stuff I've seen so far. All they seem to confirm is that various nations have been behaving in the way that other nations suspect they've been behaving.

This whole rape allegation thing is getting stupid now. Vested interests unbeknown to us are clearly interfering and it's pathetic.
As for wikileaks, I find it odd that so many people support the governments attempts to pull the wool over their eyes. People actively prefer ignorance, it's shameful.
This is just a prime example of the US flexing it's muscles and trying to show that it controls the world, which, lets face it, in their minds, they do.
I beleive that no real crime has been committed by Assange, and the US saying that it will cause casualties and more trouble is nothing more than scare mongering. Freedom of speech means that any and all documents should be available for the public to view. We have a right to know what's happening to our soldiers whilst they are away, and to know the truth, not just what the media has been told to show us on the TV.
As for the rape allegation, it does seem somewhat well timed, and maybe construed as a conspiracy, but as someone else has already said, it should be treated as a separate issue (because it is!), the United States have no say in other countries business, and if Sweden do get a hold of Assange, they shouldn't be allowed to hand him over to the US authorities based on the fact that he would be being held for an entirely different reason than the one the US want him for.
On another note: Kudos to Assange for staying hidden for so long, and I do hope they don't get him.
