Agreed, reduce the output and still get paid as much, if not more. Very fishy if you ask me.

Well its good for everyone except Toshiba, as reduced supply will push up prices. Toshiba will see the same benefit, but it'll be offset by the fact that they now have a bunch of very expensive silicon vanity mirrors. They might be able to flog a few to Habitat, mind you.

This is really annoying because i was looking forward to the 2nd gen of intel SSDs coming down in price when the 3rd gen come out in janurary.

Don't know how it would effect this but no doubt the deals i was hoping for on SSDs will be nowhere near as good now.

As previous posters have said ... fishy.

I think Toshiba is just taking a hit for the team, memory prices were estimated to drop even further in 2011, but this little stunt will very conveniently drive prices back up. There was probably a secret hotel room meeting or two before this 'voltage drop'. I predict an investigation and severe EU fines in a couple of years.

Ridiculous idea, it benefits everyone except Toshiba, and there is no 'team'. If we're going down the conspiracy theory road, it's more likely Toshiba was sabotaged..
