How did alienware make the list?!?!?! Laptops from the likes of Kobalt are cheaper and much MUCH faster?
maybe you should look at the product more than the brand
no other company sells an ultra portable gaming laptop, and dell sells theirs at a very reasonable price everything considered
Err yea they do and em no they dont. . . . Look around and you'll see there is more than Alienware that sell ultra portable gaming laptops. For example, Kobalt, Rock Direct or a number of others. . . . .
Umm the cheapest Kobalt is £800 and a 15" screen, rock's start at over £1000 and are 15", but more powerful cpu's
For an 11" screen sized laptop, yes the resolution is lower at only 720p but that's actually good in some ways as the GT335M will do very well at that res and increasing the res will demand far more gpu power.
Yes it's only a core2duo 1.3ghz with 2gb memory, so both the Rock or Kobalt basic laptops are out spec'ing it, but for just £620 that's a great price on a basic small laptop that can play games.
Not that I think anyone should spend £620 on an xmass present :O_o1:
Tbh with a 1.3ghz cpu and an 11 inch screen why would you possibly want to play games on it :s For £180 more you would be mad not to get the Kobalt one. Just seems very overpriced for all it is. Just my opinion though. And to put it under the title of 'Mobile Gaming' is a bit much as its wouldnt be a great performer.
The M11x is surprisingly good for quite a lot of games. My friend has one and it has an overclock setting in the BIOS that runs the CPU at 1.6GHz. Runs Starcraft 2, L4D2, TF2, pretty much everything we have thrown at it. It can start to choke a bit on Supreme Commander in a very large battle though.
