Re: News - New Three £25 tariff includes genuinely unlimited mobile data
I kind of wish I was due to change contract now, rather than in the summer! Still, hopefully be July a few other operators will have followed suit and I'll have a wide selection of operators to choose from. If not, then back to Three it will be, by the looks of it...

Remember though, that while Three have some good deals (and I've found the coverage to be quite good), they also have THE worst customer support. And I'm having problems with their billing folks:
- apparently moving banks means having to pay your contract charges twice for a period of time;
- be prepared to receive texts stating "you are near your limit - please send us some money" despite having a zero balance
:wallbash:
Actually quite happy with the 1GB limit I've got on my X10 with Three - in fact I've come no-where near that limit yet.
Re: News - New Three £25 tariff includes genuinely unlimited mobile data
Very interesting. I'm currently still on an 'unlimited' data policy from O2 (which they've stopped doing now), with fair usage policy (although if they cut you off and you threaten to leave, they reinstate you), but I'm still interested - as I'm paying £20 sim only for fewer minutes and texts. Not that I need more minutes or texts, but if I get a new phone chucked in there as well then I'm tempted.. *goes off to investigate*
Edit: Looks like the news that their data is now unlimited hasn't filtered through to their website yet. Also to get a decent phone would mean spending at least £30/month, though that's not really a surprise. Also it might be worth waiting until 1st January when VAT will go up but (hopefully) the contract price will still be £25/£30/whatever - whereas buying before means the contract price will rise by 64p or so (£30/month).
Edit2: January VAT rises will apparently not affect those on the contract.

I picked up the E72 in the summer (had an iPhone and hated it), and on this £25 a month contract.
Having used 3 for quite a few years now, i have never hadan issue, and they are always cheaper than the competitors.
My work mobile is a Blackberry 9700 on Orange, and the line quality on 3 is way superior to that.

Not true, you can change your bank details online on their web site if you have registered and have had the contract more than 8 months. There are no complications with this.
I have just left three and joined T-mobile. Although my three signal is alot better than 3 years ago, it was far from perfect. Calls would still drop and I would suddenly loose full signal for no reason.
On T-mobile I got for £25 per month, 3gb data, unlimited texts and 500 minutes - oh and a free Desire HD. Seems like a better deal than what three can offer. They couldn't match it when I left.
If you read various mobile forums you will find alot of people leaving three for various reasons. Lack of 2g signal now, intermittent signal, poor service (in store and call centres) Poor data speeds and also their branded handsets are the last to receive updates.

Actually I didn't say that - quote tags in the wrong place?
Oh, and it was a change of direct debit instructions - which they duly acknowledged (in writing!) and then seem to be incapable of understanding. Just sent me a bill demanding £34 but also showing that they owe me £30. Go figure...

Stores are very patchy - some are good, others a lot less so.
As for customer services, it's similar - in this case I seem to get the trainee's, but I've had one or two good experiences. I should have had prior warning when I suggested contacting C.S. and the guys in the Three store laughed hysterically.
Strange you should say about T-Mobile - they were #2 on my list of "preferred suppliers". Trouble is that by the time my Three contract expires I'm sure that Orange will have bought T-Mob down to their level of dis-service. :(

Very sweeping comment, with not too much substance.
If you read 'various forums', you will find many people defecting from all of the different mobile providers.

If this is the case, then doesn't it indicate that "customer service" is far down the list of priorities for all of them. I'm sure I've heard good things being said for T-Mobile's c.s. folks - however, I'm sure that there's a "t-mobile-sucks" forum/website somewhere.
Although, in my case, I'd reserve special opprobrium for Three - but that's just based on personal experience. ymmv.
Re: News - New Three £25 tariff includes genuinely unlimited mobile data
Provided T*sco isnt a rude word in this part of Hexus, then -
did you know they are offering £10 month (monthly contract, not 12/24m), 500 mins, "lots" of texts (its either unlimited or 1000 cant remember) and "unlimited Internet" SIM only plan.
Well, in my local shop they are anyway ....
VERY tempted !
Re: News - New Three £25 tariff includes genuinely unlimited mobile data
Are you sure? According to online it's only 250 mins, unlimited texts and 5 months internet for £10/month. £15/month gives 500 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet.
Edit: I found your one, for some reason they have two Sim Only contracts, one with 250 more minutes, at each price point
Edit 2: Ofc, unlimited data by Tesco means FUP of 500MB
Re: News - New Three £25 tariff includes genuinely unlimited mobile data
im on a £25 per month contract with three and my imit is 500MB... damn them!

Yep, I bought meself that deal and its their £15 a month plan reduced to a tenner, and it is guaranteed to hold as long as I keep paying :)
and 500MB is prolly plenty, I only need to check paypal and ebay occasionally.
Now I know what Im getting for my birthday :) (new fone)
Re: News - New Three £25 tariff includes genuinely unlimited mobile data
Tempting though Tesco's ubercheap contracts were, I've gone for a Desire HD for £35/month on the Three One Plan :o
Always fun trying to understand a strong Indian accent over the phone. I can only recall having spoken to British accents when on the phone to O2.
Hope the signal's alright!
Also apparently the VAT rise will not affect customers already on the plan, i.e. their bills won't increase.
Edit: Three lied, see below.
Re: News - New Three £25 tariff includes genuinely unlimited mobile data
I am on three and I can never use all my data, not becuase i don't use it enough but because i can never get a signal!
Re: News - New Three £25 tariff includes genuinely unlimited mobile data
Just to update, and perhaps dissaude anyone from trusting them in the future if they are as naive as me, the VAT increase did indeed affect those customers (including me) who signed up in December despite my being told to the contrary. It's only 75p/month but it's the principle, and aside from being rather annoyed with them I've reported them to Ofcom. If anyone else has had a similar experience I hope you will do the same - http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/tell-u...hone-services/
