So, remind me how many quallity Steam Sale games could you buy for the same price as the four new maps?

As it's Treyarch not IW I'm hoping they follow the old pricing and put these maps up for under a tenner rather than just under fifteen quid like IW did although only time will tell. Even if they do come up to around the fifteen quid mark, they're all new maps (take note IW, I don't like paying for the same thing twice!) and if you play a lot of COD, they do tend to be worth picking up in the long run because you get many, many hours of play for your money.

Re: News - Call Of Duty Black Ops - First Strike add-on coming in the new year

I question how much influence Activision have over pricing rather than the dev's.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

They milk it for however much they think they can get away with. Sadly MW2 seems to have set the benchmark very high for map packs.

They're 1,200 MS points on the Xbox 360, not sure what that equates to on the PC and PS3.

Re: News - Call Of Duty Black Ops - First Strike add-on coming in the new year

well i barely even play the game now, kinda regret buying it if im honest its rather boring overall... i wont be getting any more maps for it.

The had promised mod and mapping tools IIRC, surely these would render the map packs useless on the PC? Unless they have decided not to bother with them and just used it as a tactic to pull in PC gamers

This is beyond a joke now... 4 maps at what an epic 14.99 or 9.99 the least? 4 maps that any community map maker would have and could have released for free and then some more. I am passing on this one.

I haven't tried this game. Is it worth £35?

If you prefer WAW to MW2 then yes, you'll probably get a lot out of Black Ops. If you preferred MW2 then I would think carefully.

It's a more balanced COD game but there are issues. The connection 'balancing' for instance. Consistently being penalised for have a good connection is even more annoying than getting no-scoped or Commando teleport stabbed in my opinion.

I would disagree about balance. I could rant on about how retarded some of the design decisions are. Its axiomatic that you can't balance between all guns; there are powerful ones and not so powerful ones. However, this doesn't mean that you nerf certain aspects to kingdome come. If by balance you mean how much easier it is to go around stabbing people - you merely have to take a look at my video - or how you can snipe people with a throwing axe and ballistic knife but if you use a sniper rifle they will hardly die - then yes its balanced. Not to mention of course getting butt-raped by the insane spawning system.

The game is the worst in the series so far. I cannot understand how reviewers rate it so highly. But hey if you have £35 to spare go ahead but prepare to be bored pretty soon.
