Yes it's ace, never set out to get it, but most new TV's and monitors are HDTV capable now, so when I replaced mine I ended up with one. Looks far better than the old tube.
Wow! A poll that I don't even understand.
I have a HDTV, hooked up to SkyHD, that I don't use for gaming (26" 1366*768 for ref). It's fab.
I have what might be construed as a HD monitor (22" 1680*1050), which I use for gaming on PC and xbox360. That's fab too, but it has no tuner so certainly isn't a HDTV.
I used to game on a Iiyama CRT monitor (19" at 1600*1200), using VGA. So that definately doesn't count as HD or TV, even though it had the highest pixel count of the lot...
What is not HDTV gaming? Anything hooked up a SD CRT television? Or that and all PCs hooked up to a monitor with no tuner?
The source of all internet confusion suggests that 1024*768 is HD, so it's a pretty lowly PC that doesn't meet that spec: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-definition_television
I game on a 22" HDTV/Monitor, got it last year as a birthday present because i bought myself a 360 and wanted to play on something bigger/better than a 14" portable, this screen kicks ass but i sold my 360 because it sucks and now i have a nice gaming pc , graphically it looks very nice on the new games and no ghosting etc, doesnt hurt my eyes either because for some reason when i made the switch i cant stand crt now (hard to read text etc). It is better to game on a HD screen but in reality pretty much everyone has a hd screen because pc monitors have been at that res and higher for many many years.
I have my 360 plugged into the new 32" toshiba, looks amazing.
For those that don't game on a decent HD TV/Monitor I strongly suggest and upgrade, not only does it breath a new life into games, it also gives you and edge in those online matches of COD4 you love so much.
Got to agree on that, shooting at a distance on Bad Company is far easier on a HDTV
I use a 50" 1080p Panasonic Vieira, some games are frankly jaw dropping on it.
HEXUS FOLDING TEAM It's EASY
I recently played Freespace 2 under Linux using fs2_open on the media centre PC.
With the updated engine, advanced effects VPs and at 1360x768 on a 32" screen, it was epic.
I go so far as to refuse to buy a game unless its in HD.
What pee's me off is the lack of 1080 titles

Also use a 24" dell for my 360. Looks awesome

Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean
I do, but not at as high a resolution I'd prefer - usually 720p (not 1080i/p), due to the monitor & TV that I have - when I upgrade in future, I look forward to it looking even better
I've used HDTVs with my Xbox 360. It's nice, but my HDTVs have so far been something of a waste - the 360 is the only HD source I've got!
It'd be nice to have HD television broadcasts or HD DVDs/Blu-rays to go with it, but the whole HD thing is a bit too costly.
Had a 50in HD Plasma for a while, and yes the 360 looks fantastic on it, but I'd hoped Freeview would get HD much sooner. I sure was wrong.
I'm currently in the process of saving money for a HDTV for the house so the 360 can then be played as it's meant to be played in high definition.
The only issue is the extremely large choice of displays available on the market with different panels and things like which makes choosing the one right for you a right royal pain in the bum.
Not only that but I've noticed that some displays have better quality sound than others while looking at people's displays at their homes. Why is it manufacturers don't highlight this as much as this is another good reason on why to purchase X branded display over Y branded and I would happily pay a premium of say £60 pounds for a display that gives better audio playback.
As such, I'm still hunting and it's now getting boring looking at specs, connections, average response times and things like that
