I'l ask the obvious question - why does anyone want portable speakers?
After all, if I'm going to need sound on the move, I'll use headphones.
And if I'm going to need sound for everyone to enjoy, then I'll be looking at some decent speakers rather than a set of portable ones.
I'd largely agree, but I can imagine that I'm on the move, sat in a hotel room or something with my laptop, and I want to listen to music or watch a film. I want some better quality sound than the laptop speakers can provide, but I don't want to be chained to my laptop by my headphones.
I'm not saying I'd buy them, but I can see that some folks would.
I can think of many reasons, one example being on holiday. When I went to Turkey last year the other half and I had my ipod linked to a set of portable speakers so we could have some music on the balcony at night whilst having a few drinks.
Other places such as camping or at a bbq when you are out in the garden?
