I hope the "wow factor" that LA is going after isn't Apple's pricing - as in "wow, they want HOW much for that p.o.s.?!". Seriously, I'd like to see some reasonably priced stuff from HP that doesn't get lumbered with the Compaq "budget" branding.Hollow announcements are out, unique experiences are in as company goes after Apple’s wow-factor
He's right about one thing though - nothing more annoying than getting a "leak" of some sweet bit o' tech and then find that someone (in marketing?) then kills it. It'll be interesting to see whether this new WebOS tablet gets launched at a price point to "compete" with iPad and Galaxy Tab, or whether they'll be really brave and dramatically undercut it (say £150-200) and gain market share from the lower end. Remember that WebOS has got zero app support compared to the iPad/Galaxy-Tab, so there needs to be something to encourage developers to hit it.
There's definitely some smart technical folks at HP, so maybe the best idea would be to let them "do their thing", drop the Mark Turd "management" approach and encourage them rather than continually threatening to fire them.
Woooosshhhhh - as that "joke" goes right over my head ...
