As SATA 6Gb/s is backwardly compatible with SATA 3Gb/s, why didn't any models ship with just all SATA 6Gb/s ports? Thus avoiding this problem.
All I can think of is cost, or a limitation of the chipset.
Same goes for USB 3. Why have this crossover with both USB2 and USB3 headers?

Although I have once again gone back to Nvidia (GTX460's in SLI are too good to ignore) I have had 2 of their past cards crap out on me, one being an 8800 Ultra when they were pricey. I'm a Sandy Bridge owner (bought from Scan) and I'm happy to wait to hear from them, at the moment my system is blistering fast and I'm sure when the replacements come I'll hear from Scan.

bandwidth if you do that you need more lanes to your CPU as your IO can now be pushed harder by providing lower speed ports people cannot complain about the speed.
