But you would still need a new motherboard with both physical/electrical PCI-e 3.0 slots to make the most of the CPU on-die lanes - right?
Better to make it backwards compatible (but accept it's slower) than not make it backward compatible at all. It's what AMD's been doing for years.Quote:
