Looks like 2.3 and 2.4 will both be Gingerbread, just like 2.0 and 2.1 were both Eclair. As far as I'm aware, 2.4 makes minor changes to 2.3 with the main change being to introduce dual core support so that Honeycomb apps will be compatible with 2.4.Quote:

According to Anandtech, even 2.2 is multi-core capable on the new dual core phones (i.e. they are running an SMP kernel). 2.3 onwards is just more heavily threaded to make even better use of multi core processors.Quote:
