I am not on facebook and feel no stress so this might well be true.
With that I do feel I don't exist at times, seeing more and more competitions etc where you have to enter through facebook.
Who pays for such useless studies ?
I'm sorry, but this story is bull****. Just rewriting a press release does not make this pile of tripe news.
Examine the methodology of the study, which as far as I can tell is unpublished and unavailable on the web: http://www.napier.ac.uk/media/Pages/...spx?NewsID=187
Pouncing on students in a corridor does not strike me as a particularly sound research method.
Avast ye landlubbers!
I can see what they are getting at because in my eyes having more friends equals more pestering for things and stupid messages, invites and game requests.
As such, some people might get stressed about this, but it really dependant on their personality, what mood they are in at the time they login to use facebook and other factors.
Just simply stating more friends means your more stressed is simply glossing over all the variables.
Facebook is another distraction, = more to do in the same amount of time. Thus, more stressed.
Plus there's that niggle at the back of your mind that you should be working for exams or whatever, = +++++++stressed. In fact that's enough hexus for one day

Makes perfect sense to me, updating your page on a regular basis/not being able to, following other people & seeing what they're up to etc, ex-partners being on there//people you like on there & what they're up to, seeing people you don't like doing well etc etc. Obviously it's gunna stress you out!
