I do miss my old Draytek Vigor router. Totally overspec for what I needed but damn damn damn reliable.
Moved over to Belkin to go from 'g' to 'n' wireless capabilities and I now get frequent dropouts.
Might keep an eye out for these once the prices drop (or secondhand)![]()

I let my mind wander and it didn't come back.....
MMm love my draytek... You're right the reliability is wonderful (so many dead netgears) and I dread the day I have to get shot of it and buy a new one.
have been seriously thinking of getting a 2820n, hopefully they will now drop in price. Do you think the 2830n would be worth the new premium ? The only thing I can see for me that might be of any advantage would be the dual band.
Also does anyone know where I could buy a replacement wireless card for a laptop as I think my wife's laptop may need one. Cheers.
my 2820 is fantastic, I was syncing at 11Mb with O2 router (was told I would get around 9Mb) changed to a Draytek and it has crept up to 14Mb!

I have been waiting for this one, but no ipv6. Any ideas if it will be added via firmware later?
If you are in the market for a Draytek, please also consider the Billion 7800N:

I upgraded from my trusty Draytek Vigor 2800G in Nov 2009 and I've never looked back. My Vigor sync'd 1 Mbit slower than the standard sky router, however the Billion sync'd 1 Mbit more than the Sky router, the Broadcom Chipset is the key here.
My current sync with Sky ISP is 1150 Up / 18069 Down kbps.
This router has won many awards and is often overlooked due to lack of distributors in the UK. I bought mine from broadbandbuyer but amazon also sell it.
It supports IPv6 on the latest firmware, it's rock solid like the Draytek, great wireless G/N range, 4-port Gigabit Switch, supports cable connections too, so will work with BT Infinity, therefore great future proofing and costs less than £120.
Only downside is it looks like a bag of spanners, but please don't let that fool you, it's a wolf in sheeps clothing.![]()

Isn't it cheaper to build your own pfsense powered one?

Cool..
I swapped my draktek 2600 for a Netgear last year. Nothing but probs... mainly overheating.
For those on 2820N - How is the wireless side of things?
I don't use the wireless a lot tbh - mostly for my HTC hero, and the occasional bit of work on the laptop but it seems pretty solid. I like the fact that I can setup a wireless client to be completely segregated from the rest of my LAN, and in fact used this feature to allow a neighbour to piggyback off our connection while Sky were sorting his connection out.
You could also investigate MikroTik RouterOS powered devices...

Not very user friendly though, more like enterprise gear than a Home/SOHO device, and you'll need a modem, perhaps an AP.
