Good to see knighthoods are based on such high-brow things like who agreed to speak at the Labour party conferenceApparently Brown refused to recommend Jobs for a knighthood in 2009 as he snubbed an invitation to speak at Labour's party conference, a senior Labour MP revealed.
Jobs was reportedly chosen by the MP for his services to technology and the MP told the newspaper: "no other CEO has consistently shown such a commitment" to back well designed technology.
And, what? A commitment to back well designed technology? If he's referring to the CEO of Apple backing Apple products, wtf, no **** sherlock?
Gates got his for charitable works, not his commitment to push out windows Me no matter how dodgy it was.

WTF! It's bad enough that the "honorary" knighthoods are dolled out (apparently) to anyone who's worked long enough over here - but to start extending that to the rest of the world is just plain stupid.Reports have also emerged that former Prime Minister Gordon Brown blocked an honoury knighthood for Jobs, according to The Telegraph.
Actually I wasn't that impressed with the elevation of "Sir" Bob Geldof - especially when Midge Ure (who apparently did just as much work, if not more, but just kept himself in the background) didn't get knighted either.
Back technology ... from his company! So he's no different to anyone else in charge of a large company. If this is the benchmark, then when can the CEO's of IBM, HP, Oracle (shudder!) etc expect to see their gongs?Jobs was reportedly chosen by the MP for his services to technology and the MP told the newspaper: "no other CEO has consistently shown such a commitment" to back well designed technology.
Sir Linus Torvalds any day now? Or knight the googlers (Page and Brin).
The one that makes me laugh though is the thought of "Sir" Richard Stallman (sorry, that's probably a Linux-geek-only joke)
Erm no, they didn't. Not once. The closest thing would be their "this is the year of the iPad2" statement, but that still doesnt remove the possibility of an iPad3 at the end of the year, however unlikely it is.Originally Posted by hexus
Misleading article headline to be honest..should be part of the "opinions" piece, but its not news as its just not accurate. (unless your fox news ofc, when the opposite is true)
