I really like IE9. Won't stop me from using Chrome though, even if IE9 walks all over Chrome in terms of hardware acceleration.

Yeah, I was using Chrome 10 beta which seemed quite unstable (I've been using the betas for Chrome ever since Chrome's release and they'd always been stable as a rock so I was surprised by this). I think google were trying to build decent hardware acceleration and failing slightly...
The only thing I miss about Chrome 10 having switched to IE9 is the lack of extensions and add-ons. I'm hoping third-party add-ons for IE9 will grow quite quickly though...
Not a fan of the new ui for ie9, much prefer the minimal look chrome has.
Safari requires 10.5.8, which was released in August 2009, about the same time as windows 7. So as far as time scales are concerned, MS are going back about as far as Apple in this regard.
Just thought I would point that out
Yes I am aware that the percentage of people using any version of OSX is far smaller than those using a 10 year old OS which is becoming more and more of a chore to use day to day when you are used to modern OS like W7.
I am not a huge fan of the new IE9 either, chrome is ok, but still sticking with Firefox.
I can't wait till firefox 4, but only want to upgrade if all of my add-ons are supported and working in the new version!!
I agree that IE9 is better than IE8 but it still doesnt have the features i want.
there are two reasons o upgraded to IE9
1. to try it out
2. better security features =less likely to get owned by software trying to excute in IE even if i dont use it myself.
I have tryed all the major browsers and always end up sticking with opera.
it has the features i want and isnt bloated. every new version adds small usability improvements.
internet explorer tab management is poor IMO.
you can reopen closed tabs but it doesnt give enough information about the website. for example if you have closed multiple tabs for the same website. it will just say yahoo uk. you will then have to reopen tabs one by one to find the right one.
there seems to be no way to save the current session. if you click to close it will simply say are you sure you want to close all the tabs/windows.
firefox:
it has the option to save the current session but some of the time it forgets the setting and only offers the option to close all tabs and lose the session.
chrome:
doesnt appear to have an option to save current session but can be added with an extension.
the extensions ive tryed doesnt automatically reopen the session when you open chrome. you have to reopen it manually.
Opera: autosaves the last window you close
you can save as many different sessions as you wish.
reopening tabs shows the full title bar so you know which page of the website you want to reopen.
tab stacks is a new feature in opera 11 which allows you to group tabs together which is useful to keep all the websites of a particular subject in one place. you can colaspse the tab stack if you don't want to look at that subject at this time to save space.
I use internet explorer to visit a few websites that dont work with opera and when i want to quickly look something up.
the way i see it is that all web browsers are getting better every version.
i do know i sound like an opera fanboy its only because its the web browser that fits my needs without needing to add any extensions.
