You should try the business laptops. IMO, Thinkpad trackpads are on par with Mac trackpads. However, Thinkpad keyboards are better than Mac keyboards. Lenovo casing are also better than Apple's.

Apple has done some good things in some areas but has been pretty medicore in other areas. Just like any other company. So to me they are not "up to the standard Apple has set". Apple hasn't set any standards.
We'll have to agree to disagree then; I think Apple have the best trackpads by a country mile!

I wouldn't rate the keyboard that highly. It's good, but not great. A little too spongey for my tastes and not a patch on my Logitech Illuminated.

So forget to plug your phone into charge one night and there's a fair chance your alarm doesn't go off.

Multiple redundancy is really where it's at, and essential for anyone where it actually matters when they turn up to work. I tend to go for a bedside alarm when I should get up and if I accidentally turn it off instead of putting it on snooze for a cheeky 5 mins I also set my phone for the latest I can leave it before getting up. Has saved me a couple of times!
Never the less, the calendar and clock code should be relatively free of major/obvious bugs. And you should be able to depend on it's accuracy, at least.

I have a Dell business laptop aswell. Have tried lenovo, toshiba, HP... you name it i have had to fix it before. Nothing compares to a mac trackpad. Im not an apple nut by any stretch, search my other posts and 3/10 of them will be bashing macs, one thing they do correctly is trackpads though and i cant take it away from them. Its such an integral part of using a laptop i may end up getting a new one down the line...

Exactly, getting into the routine of putting your phone on charge every night isnt such a big deal but remembering to check the batteries on your bedside alarm clock every night, one day it just wont go off surely? Similar situation to an iDevice 'randomly' failing. If you use both i guess its a different story, i dont i just dock my phone and trust in its ability to keep the time

I wasn't disagreeing with you on Mac trackpads. I think they are one of the best in the industry. But I have to say the Thinkpad trackpads are pretty good too and (I think) are on par with the Macs.
