Re: News - Half of Brits don’t want Wi-Fi on the Tube
The reasons for not having wifi just borders on the stupidity!
Re: News - Half of Brits don’t want Wi-Fi on the Tube
Indeed, those reasons are quite potty.

Haha yea and given that there are more places in the UK than London and there is already 3G and wifi places outside the underground, apply those reasons would mean the underground is the safest place with the lowest theft/crime rates compared to the outside world?! haha
Re: News - Half of Brits don’t want Wi-Fi on the Tube
So its like the Britain is living in London judging by the title?
If you don't leave in London what's the point of asking a sheep farmer from oooop north what he thinks about Wi-Fi on London Tube?
Re: News - Half of Brits don’t want Wi-Fi on the Tube
iirc its one in fifteen british adults take the tube on an average day.
hard to see why its so expensive, both in subsidies and fairs, yet despite living along one of the faster Deep Level Lines, I normally manage to out pace it on a bicycle.
The main thing is thou, its fricken pointless, if its on the station only, your there for upto 5 min, maybe 7 when there is a service problem. That is barely enough time to go through the captive portal.
Re: News - Half of Brits don’t want Wi-Fi on the Tube
they need wifi and 3g to be inside the tunnels. not on the bloody stations as the reasons noted above explains
Re: News - Half of Brits don’t want Wi-Fi on the Tube
Can only see it being a good thing really.
Re: News - Half of Brits don’t want Wi-Fi on the Tube

Er, yes :) Granted it's such a small system that WiFi doesn't really seem practical. Unless you purposefully take a longer route, your longest journey will be about 25 mins.
Re: News - Half of Brits don’t want Wi-Fi on the Tube
Honestly how long is the average person even in a tube station or train. I am sure people can live without wi-fi for a small amount of their daily lives.

Long enough if someone wants to communicate with you. I think it would be very useful.
Imagine you are late meeting someone. Usually you can call but you can't so you just send a msg via wifi to him :)

Wasn't sure which 'Glasgow underground' you meant! :) (Vibrant city though, over or under ground)

How did the world get by before mobiles and text messages. If I couldn't tell someone I was running late the world would end.
