Looks like Samsung is going to own around 10% of Seagate now:

Looks like I will be looking at the Western Digital hard drives now! Samsung drives were great for SFF PCs due to their relatively low noise and operating temperatures!

From the piece: "The $1.375 billion payment is comprised of half cash and half stock. Stock to the value of $687.5 million apparently amounts to 9.6 percent percent of Seagate. This is enough to get Samsung a seat on the Seagate board."

Sorry about that!! I missed that you had mentioned that in the article.

Hmm this is something I didn't expect - I though the current big HDD names would remain as-is. I wonder if we will still get Samsung branded HDDs?

Sigh. Samsung were our "go to" brand of hard drive, given the crap that was latterly Maxtor and the subsequent merging/polution of Seagate. Who knows what you'll be getting with future Seagates, so WD becomes the only other realistic choice

Every bare drive I've bought until now has been a Samsung - not out of brand loyalty/fanboyism or anything, just I've done research and ended up with a Samsung every time.

If Apple do sue Samsung looks like they will need some extra cash from somewhere.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
