1080p ?
Gah. If I'm paying 500 clams I'd really like to see better than that. If they made it 1200 I'd be in there like a greased rat.
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.

1080p *and* 120Hz. Know of any other 1080p, 120Hz monitors for less than £500?![]()
Yeah 1080p *and* 120Hz, in smaller screen sizes, there're several on Scan. I guess you're referring to 27" though![]()
fail to see tehe point of this resolution on a pc monitor its not a tv :S
Meh, it works as a TV.
24" is better, but there must be a market for 27" monitors as they've been around for a few years. I guess it serves as both a monitor and a TV for your console.
It's the 16:9 part of it that I hate. And the 3D aspect, but then I guess I can do something about that.
Ah, I'm behind the times - hadn't realised there were so many 120Hz monitors avaialble now.
Of course, 3D support is just a side effect of the 120Hz refresh rate, which is the real selling point here. The 16:9 aspect ratio is just a side effect of HD TVs becoming increasingly popular: no point in making two almost identical panels for two different markets if you can persuade people to use one of them.
would this work with AMD HD3D ?
Hexus estas unu el la plej bonaj teknikaj ejoj Mi havas vizititan!
arguably it makes non-3d gaming smoother too
I do use the 3d but at 60hz per eye I start to notice the flicker after an hour or so of gaming and have to switch off 3d and use straight 120hz - I've also viewed games side by side on 60 vs 120 and you can notice the difference - i get noticeably less eye strain with my newer 120hz monitor doing normal desktop-y stuff too
having said that, mine is the 22" bundle that cost me not much more than £200, £500 is one hell of an ask for a PC monitor, even if it is 27"
3d gaming when it works is great, however most Class AAA titles still have issues with it and you start having to turn off certain features that just don't work in combination with 3d
@fathersmurf - the monitor being 120hz it should work with AMD3D, however you would still need additional 3d glasses/IR transmitter as AMD 3D won't work with Nvidia glasses (funnily enough)
the only PC monitor listed on the AMD site is the Viewsonic V3D241wm-LED
Throws in. (Hmm - £449.) "Includes in the price" might have been better.Acer throws in a pair of NVIDIA 3D glasses too.
I'm as delighted with my Dell 2407 (24", 1200p, Ergotron Mount) as when I first got it, despite it having a dead pixel!
When I see a 27"/30" 120hz monitor that will exceed 1080p, I may jump ship - I'd like 30", but 27" appears more sensible power-wise.
Dell's 2711 offers 2560x1440, but its product page omits to mention a refresh rate, AFAIK.
If this is a gaming monitor then it should have an ultra slim bezel for eyefinity and a display port. Stop wasting my time with ugly bezel design, naff stands & incremental updates. All 120Hz screen are overpriced and for TN this should now be the norm due to smoother 2D performance regardless of 3D capability. This screen needs to be cheaper or more appropriately designed to justify the price.
Atleast it's not an out and out con like the fake 120Hz IPS monitors with only 60Hz input. TN does at least have fast enough response times to accept a true 120Hz input and refresh rate. IPS doesn't so there needs to be some other marketing term like "FAKE 120Hz" for IPS monitors that make this claim.
Acer trying to do their best to compete with other companies and I think we will get more less similar specifications the only difference is price. I like Acer LCD's even thought most LCD's look similar.
Latest technology became very interesting whether for LCD or Netbook, I personally like Acer Aspire One netbook models, look very pretty and packed with latest technology beneath it.
Perfect spec for what i need pricing a bit completely outrageous.
