So looks like to take on the 6870 - but i wonder where it will fall on price.
And
I bet AMD will move the price of the 6950 down if the GTX 560 is too competative.

The Palit GTX460 1GB Sonic has the GPU running at 700MHZ and the GTX560 has the GPU running at 800MHZ. So a 15% improvement in DX10 performance seems to be down to a 15% increase in the GPU clockspeed.
The GTX560TI is around 5% to 10% faster than an HD6870 1GB in most cases and the HD6950 is around 10% faster than a GTX560TI. The pre-overclocked GTX560TI cards running at around 900MHZ are around the same speed as an HD6950. The GTX560 has lower clockspeeds and less shaders than the GTX560TI.
The GTX560 IMHO will be around the same speed as the higher end pre-overclocked GTX460 1GB cards which means it will be around HD6870 1GB performance.
Edit!!
Look at the performance of the GTX460 1GB FTW in this review:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/3987/a...range-market/8
The GTX460 1GB FTW has the GPU running at 850MHZ and is one of the rarer GTX460 1GB cards. The GTX560 has the GPU running at 810MHZ.
