Not that impressive, surely? My Kensington mouse I bought a couple of years ago lasts upwards of six months on a couple of AAAs. As does my Kensington keyboard, though that might be on AAs.
The logitech M705 Marathon mouse lasts 3 years on 2 aa (you can also operate it with only one). I've got it with the similar battery life k340 (does need both batteries) under the unified receiver. Space bar misses often as it won't work consistently if you hit it side on.
Looks pretty though...
Environmentally friendly? I don't think saving a few AA batteries will do much for the environment!
In any event, this is nothing new. My Logitech mouse lasts six months on one battery, and has the added bonus of not being ugly and lacking gimmicky DPI buttons on the top.
I''ve just got an M705 marathon mouse to replace an old G7 mouse - I never used the DPI button, but after five years use, one of the buttons had a dodgy switch action and the Li-Ion batteries only lasted about 3 hours of use. At least they were quick to swap, but I'm really looking forwards to 3 years between battery changes instead of 3 hours!
Yeah always a priority when I look for a mouse, I'm thinking of getting the Sidewinder x8 soon. Magnetic charging cable and standard aa li-ion battery. Some of the buttons could be more configurable but the side buttons looks spot on location wise. Probably because I hold mice in a claw grip so the side buttons are never in the right place for me.
