On a more serious note, it'll take a lot more than a glorified 'Like' button to ignite Google's relevance in social media.
It's not aimed at social media, as I understand it - it'll provide google feedback about the relevance of a page to a particular set of search terms, and eventually be integrated in its results algorithm. I think Google might have to accept that they'll need to partner with someone else to really push into social media: I personally wouldn't mind a social network run by google, but no-one's going to be the first person on a social network because there's no-one to interact with on there. Bit of a vicious cycle really...
Great function this, but I have to question data protection - Google must be storing all this info, and it just sounds to me like another list of data that they can then sell on...
