It would be nice if Halo 3 was released for the PC at some point. The first game was fun but I didn't bother with the second one as it would have pointless.

I am not holding my breath but would have loved the whole series to be PC as well. I am not much of a console fan and the last thing I would ever play on one is a FPS :(
You would have thought that Microsoft would have wanted it on their OS, showing off the latest DX stuff......but it's obviously not a big enough market for them to bother with anymore. We can only hope that the new XBox and PS take a long time to hit retail to increase the chances of a PC gaming resurgence.
Re: News - The dawn of a new Halo trilogy arrives with Halo 4 this Christmas
Naaaah! Halo on PC sounds wrong personally (yeah, the first two are on it but still). I grew up on Halo on the console and I'll stick with consoles. Anyways this was one of the most awesome announcements at E3. Looking forward to what 343 Industries will create, with Halo 4, and the outcome of Halo CE: Anniversary in November.
I really hope there'll be some similarity between the game and Ghosts of Onyx, since it is Onyx Chief's heading for. I really wanna see his teammates and the Spartan III camps/base in the forest. Too much to ask? Or am I completely asking for something that won't happen haha!
Next year's E3 will hopefully reveal more goodness and gameplay hopefully.

Really? As not only did it look like a Forerunner planet at the end of Halo 3, the trailer for Halo 4 clearly has resemblances to the Forerunner shield world from Halo Wars.

Never played Halo Wars but heard it too had Onyx in there, the Shield World. The book was great as it was all about the planet and the Spartan III's, so it seems it can only be the one and only Forerunner Planet. :woowoo:
But I do wonder if the Flood will return? It was like a core part of the first three games. If not, then I want there to be something new for us experience.
Re: News - The dawn of a new Halo trilogy arrives with Halo 4 this Christmas
Supposedly, the Humans fought against the Forerunners and defeated the Flood once before:

WTF?? Have the writers for Halo been watching too much Stargate??

It seems that the Forerunners destroyed the Precursors and that the Flood were created by the Precursors as a weapon. The Forerunners also destroyed the first Human empire too. However, the Humans had defeated the flood before but destroyed the data so the Forerunners could not get it in the end.
It seems that there are some new novels being released this year which will be looking at the link between the ancient Human empire and The Forerunners:

I would suspect that this may prove relevant to Halo 4.
Perhaps this is the planet in the last game:

Edit!!
It also seems there is a single surviving Precursor:

Spoilers! But luckily I read the books so I'm fine. But yeah man! Playing the Halo games is just scratching the surface of the Halo Universe. True enough the Foreunner Sage is out but I don't think it'll have any impact on Halo 4, it's actually the book Ghosts of Onyx (and a rumoured, or possible upcoming sequel to that that will be quite important for any fan to read.)
But damn, the Forerunners and Precursors are what drives my love for Halo even more now. And you should've read it man, read that page where all as revealed about the Precursor Prisoner, it blew me away and the description it gave out of how it looked was freaky as hell! It was an awesome build up to the second book.
This is why I consider Halo to be one the best FPSs around; a game with such a rich backstory is a rare find in gaming. Especially with FPSs.:)

Its a shame I am not a console gamer otherwise I would have probably played most of the Halo games myself.
Luckily, Bioware and Valve make PC and multiplatform games with interesting stories. Hopefully Mass Effect 3 will be great!! :)
Re: News - The dawn of a new Halo trilogy arrives with Halo 4 this Christmas
Always been the music that has drawn me to the halo games, the soundtracks are excellent, also the split screen co-op, never gets tired when one of you is jumping on the prophet of regret and beating him to death by hand rofl.
Re: News - The dawn of a new Halo trilogy arrives with Halo 4 this Christmas
Valve is brilliant. The Half Life series is their gem and now we're all waiting for Episode 3. They've been super quiet about it, and was anything at all mentioned at E3? I watched the majority of Microsoft and other bits but nothing else really.
Totally agree about the game's music; Marty O'Donnell is a legend! I'm not sure if he's still going to be working on the new games because it'd be a shame if his music wasn't in the new games =(
