long-term ally or otherwise, they have failed to market an A-series notebook with a chassis sized for less than 14" screens.

AMD isn't targetting the "ultrabook" market with its A Series APU. Intel has created a new category for that with its i5/i7 UM processors.Quote:

it remains a 35W processor without any requirement for separate GPU or northbridge, it would do very well in a 12.5" chassis, just as lenovo is doing with the 35W Intel cpu in the U260 currently.
