What exactly is the smart tv because my c6530 has samsung apps on it and is certainly older than 3 months. Is there a new range or different feature set?

Ps. Lol at Ed Balls and the bbc app, do we need more of that really?

a couple of the smart tv's are extremely good looking sets, with tiny bezels in chrome with a chrome stand. Tried them out in local store and was very impressed with the picture and standard of the apps over a crummy in store wireless net connection.

The smart tv's have a huge range of apps including youtube, facebook etc.
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!

This is just marketing gizmo - a large percentage of people wanting a decent tv (and not knowing too much about Smart TV) will automatically be bundled into these figures. It is the same with 3D - basically if you want a middle to top-end TV you are forced to go down the 3d route whether you want that feature or not.

I know I looked into it and it does have a proper web browser finally but its not going to be available to older "smart" tvs. Mine came with samsung apps and internet@tv but that doesn't include a browser £2000 for the equivalent new smart tv.
