Hehe, the final question is the important one for me. I need 80x educational copies for two new suites, and at the moment Apple haven't decided on the pricing.

I'm torn over the it to be honest, FCP7 is like an old friend now and whilst for my workflows I won't miss the lack of multicam for now, or the lack of tape support, the interface change is huge. But, the speed increase will be immense on my Xeon based Mac Pro with it being multi core enabled...

Time will tell. I'm trying to get hold of an evaluation copy so will be able to have more of an informed opinion soon. The FAQ is welcomed though.
