This is bad news I feel.
yeah, this crap makes me sick. Got to the point where companies cant compete using technical merit and innovation, they instead have to rely on a constant battle of patents whilst fat evil lawyers just get rich off it... what a system.
I'll be very annoyed if they use these patients to stop android innovation. Can't help but feel patients are far more harm and hindrance than any benefit they give. I thought the original purpose of them was to help protect home inventors from having their ideas stolen. Now it seems to be a way of preventing competitors competing!
Patents are good and evil, just depends on who uses them. But one thing is for sure, the Lawyers are laughing all the way to the bank over this sale.
At least the shareholders of Nortel are getting some returns on their losses this way.
Its the US patent system which is the problem
