Re: News - UK TouchPad fire-sale confirmed
tbh I think they cut the price too much!
I there isn't the supply for the demand, its clear, so why they didn't cut it too $250?
I also think there should be a shareholder revolt, this CEO is clearly sodding useless...

Is it hoping or is it actual written by HP anywhere tho?

Nobody seems to know. After all, if there was hard evidence, everybody would be buying them at full price, expecting the cash back!
Re: News - UK TouchPad fire-sale confirmed
staples site is down aswell haha... my word this is insane
Re: News - UK TouchPad fire-sale confirmed
Play's website has started to get sluggish - people must be getting desperate (I know i am!)
Re: News - UK TouchPad fire-sale confirmed
It seems Argos has not reduced their prices yet. FFS,they are getting the money back from HP anyway so there is no excuse for them to NOT drop the prices.
Do they really expect people to buy them at full price and for HP to compensate them if they have sales at full price??

It makes me laugh that even this sale in the UK has been so poorly handled by HP.
They should have just communicated with retailers telling them when to sell the reduced tablets. If all the retailers had dropped the price on the same day all this crap would have been avoided.
Re: News - UK TouchPad fire-sale confirmed
The prices will be dropped eventually, nobody wants a tablet with a dead OS if it's expensive - even HP won't want to keep them!

A lot of people have their reservations at Argos ending today.
Re: News - UK TouchPad fire-sale confirmed
Argos are extending reservations until Sept 1st, if you ask via Twitter

Touchpad or the pre? Argos sold out yesterday I think.
It will be interesting to see how long (or short) HP support webos, or if someone takes it on, or if they will publish it as Open Source.
There is also a movement to port Android to the hardware. Ok, so it will be just another android device, but still have some legs in it.
Still available on Amazon - but not much discounted.

I've got the last touchstone charging stand reserved at Argos in Eastleigh - and one on order from Amazon - so if you do get one and need the stand... :)
