    DC Universe Online going F2P

Reported by IGN Sonys superhero game is going F2P in October.

"The announcement of the free to play move comes just seven months after SOE released DC Universe Online. SOE wouldn't go into the exact number of subscribers currently playing the game, but Jameson said numbers are up since the move to megaservers and that free to play was not in response to subscriber numbers."

I love it when things go the way I like. From the very beginning I said one thing. Either make me pay for the game first or do subscriptions and let me do a trial first. Shame it took them so long.

Obviously numbers have dropped and a MMORPG without the MMO part is a completely useless strategy. PS3 I don't think will be doing as well as PC and with so many other MMORPG's coming out like Star Wars which will have a huge fan base, they are just trying to capitalise in anything they can before the big cheeses arrive.

Re: DC Universe Online going F2P

Too little to late tbh with this MMO, I jumped on board at launch, then the Sony crap and not only being down for a month they also give the world 80+ million names; addresses etc Doubt I would go back unless DC can pull this game off Sony and give it to someone who may actually look after our details.

Shame as I liked the game, just a bit naff when you can grind and solo to lvl 30 then all of a sudden if you aren't in a team the rest of the game is pretty much off limits. So much promise but it fell short at so many points
