Has to be said, The Galaxy S has been one of the best over all phones I have ever had. It really is a great phone...good screen, very speedy and able to handle just about everything I throw at it. I am a very heavy user of phones, not only txting & calling but spotify, games, films etc and I cant fault it at all!![]()
The flash performance is excellent![]()
Erm, no actually - thought the consensus was that the "leak" was a false one that some dimwit made up and decided to release out there for a laugh.as HEXUS reported just last week, specs for the Galaxy S III have already emerged, albeit in very leaky manner
Personally speaking, I wasn't that impressed with the leaked information and didn't see much progress from the current SII - certainly not the "game changer" that was promised. In which case if those specs are real then I think Sammy's going to get laughed at when they launch the SIII at next years MWC. Maybe I'm just deluding myself, but I'm holding out hope for the quad-core, large battery, NFGC, super resolution screen, etc that was theorised before the leak. I don't need any of those things now (well apart from the large battery) but given mobile contracts seem to be pretty much 2 years these days, I obviously want to buy something that's not going to be an embarrassment 12 months after I buy it.
Maybe I'm just in a bad mood today, but I take issue with that comment since it seems to state that Samsung have been (slavishly?) copying Apple's designs. I don't think we can say that until found proven in the courts - and personally I've got some doubts as to the validity of Apple's case. What will be interesting is now that Apple has distanced itself from the South Korean giant, will the quality of Samsung’s new designs hold up to scrutiny?
I don't count myself as a Samsung fan, (actually I don't own any Samsung gear - TV's a Sony; netbook/tablet is Asus; PC monitor's from LG; and the phone's also a Sony), but I've been quite impressed with the SII when I've given it a spin, and as a result the SIII was at the top of my hit list for my next mobile when the time comes around next year.
Hey crossy, by waiting to see what Samsung's designs are like is just saying well let's see if there really was a link, because honestly no one knows really and hopefully we'll see that Samsung product designs really are great (I swapped iPhone for SII so I certainly think that so far).
Should never trust leaks which is why it's reported as a leak, though you can never be sure that a leak wasn't real after allThere's been a lot of conflicting information out there mostly because Samsung have so many new devices coming out. Let's wait and see.
Agreed, but like I said, the consensus out there is that this "leak" is just someone trying to prank all those prospective SGSIII owners. I'm inclined to agree mainly because I'm dumb enough to "go with the flow" wrt these kind of things, plus Samsung haven't bothered themselves about it at all - not even a "we refuse to confirm or deny this information" which makes me feel that it's bogus.
Nice to hear that the SII is good - I'm really, really tempted to dive in, tell Three to go forth early, and replace my SE X10 with a white SGSII. But if the consensus out there on the 'III is correct, then I'd be stupid to pay £200+ to buy out the contract now, when I could wait until July, get out of my contract for £0 and get the phone du jour from Samsung. I think I can wait until MWC in February to see what Mr Samsung could sell me.
Interestingly I asked at both the local T-Mobile and Three stores - the T-Mob's seemed to be up to speed rumour wise, the Three folks tried to sell me an iPhone4!![]()
I always think you have to be a little crazy to buy out your contract, unless there's some very good reason to do so (like moving abroad). If you're going to spend £200 on essentially nothing, why not put it towards buying the shiny new phone sim-free (or even as new from ebay)? You'll easily save more than £200 on your next contract when you no longer need to get a phone bundled in, so it would work out cheaper (based on the SGSII costing ~£400 new).
Tend to agree - that's why I said previously that I'd probably grin and bear it, counting the days until the current contract runs out. Like I also said, since we're pretty much forced into 2 year contracts these days I want to make sure that I get a phone with some staying power - so I can grit my teeth and convince myself that I'm actually waiting for the 'III.
I'm actually still okay with my current (but now obsolete) SE X10 - it's got an SE 2.3 ROM on it and it's sufficient to my mobile needs for the moment - fast enough and the looks still appeal, think the battery will need replaced soon. No, the problem I've got is with Three - not content with selling me a contract with inclusive minutes that can only be used "out of the box" to phone other Three phones, (so to phone home I had to contact the Helldesk and set a non-Three calls limit first - no-one bothered to mention that when I signed up), I now discover that I can't phone 0800, 0845, etc either. Apparently (again!) I need to contact CS and get another limit set.
Of course, finding this out when you're stuck at the side of the road trying to call in the AA only to be told that your credit has run out, but then be able to phone them on the non-0800 number doesn't impress.![]()
