Whooooo! *Says original Transformer owner*
Yeah, ASUS are being a little insensitive to customer feelings by not making up its mind and laying down a clear roadmap. Without this information it's not possible to make a highly informed purchasing decision and you don't know where you stand in regards to other devices like the slider. It's of course because they're still finding their feet and flying off in all kinds of directions but it's about time to settle down.

well done Asus!ASUS has confirmed that its complete line of Eee Pad tablets will receive the Android 4.0 “Ice Cream Sandwich” update.
Hmm, not sure that Asus really can do that - mainly because Google themselves seem to be "winging it" wrt the OS development. Within those limits I'd suggest that Asus have been the most "together" of all the Android tablet makers, c.f. Samsung who seem to be adopting a scattergun approach to tablets, and Motorola who don't really seem to know what to do with the Xoom.
I'm not saying the Transformer is the best tablet ever - but I will say that for what I want to do it's 90% there and certainly a heck of a lot better than the competition. Like I've said before - if there's some way to get a wired Ethernet connection then it'd be at 99% perfect (for me). As it is, I find more and more things I can use it to do - latest was that I was using it to screen digital camera pictures "in the field" to make sure I'd got the shots I needed to.
And at the risk of appearing like a total Asus-zealot, the Padfone is probably the only device out there at the moment that could persuade me not to hold off for a Galaxy S III to replace my current mobile.
Quite suprised and impressed with this announcement. I can't see HTC etc doing this. I have always liked the Transformer and think the screen is far better than the xoom and iconia.
I nearly bought one a few months ago. I came on the forums and asked for suggestions and it was pointed out to me (by C-T-F) the second transformer was out later this year... so i waited... and im glad i did
Definately good to see updates being rolled out to older devices although im pretty sure HTC, samsung etc are actually pretty good about updating so i think some of the comments are a bit unfair.
TBH I may just off load mine to my Ma/Da and get one... maybe
