the update also brings with it enhanced voice controls to completely save couch-potatoes the bother of hand-waving
That's a bit unfair TBH......It's a feature that could add huge accessibility to disabled users.

I don't know, I'd suspect that if you're unable to control an Xbox in a typical manner, you'd either have a more appropriate bespoke controller set-up or not own an Xbox in the first place.

I'm more of a PC gamer but do own an Xbox and am thrilled that Microsoft are finally ditching that terrible UI.

Hmm, I'm going to be contrary and say that I actually quite liked the current UI - it was zippy enough and did the job. On the other hand I HATE the drawn-with-crayons everything-is-a-tablet look that the new one has in the screenshots.

Although I suppose the big buttons do make it easier for those folks driving it with Kinect. In which case I just wish that you could use Kinect at a distance of less than 6 feet from the monitor/tv.

    Good point - nice thinking!

Career status: still enjoying my new career in DevOps, but it's keeping me busy...

SONY needs to update their XROSS MEDIA BAR on the PS3. Getting monotonous!

I like the sound of the iplayer/ youtube integration, I don't leave my PC on but can fire up the 360 pretty quickly.
